Heatwave running

Posted on | July 9, 2010 | No Comments

Stockholm is red hot. It takes some preparations to go out running without wearing yourself out more than you should for just a 5k run. Its amazing to think that we have been out running in -7°C just a few months back, and it even seems simple as you cant really feel your muscles hurt when its cold.

Here are a few helpful hints and tips for the heat running:

  • Eat propperly (a well balanced diet) 2 hours before running. A smart bar etc can help to, if your out of time to cook.
  • Drink an hour before you go running, as you will sweat out a lot of liquid, you want to have something to sweat, to avoid fatigue.
  • Bring some water.
  • Slow down if you have to, even stop. But keep going. Once your done, you´ll feel proud of your self.

koss-headphones-runningSo theese ladies, @brittablomma and @anmara asked me wick earphones i run with, and the answer is that i dont really run with earphones. I prefer running and having quiet moment when i run, i have tried several earphones.

Koss have a pair of super light travel phones, Portapro i have had for years, and i have been happy with them:

+ light
+ resistant to falling out/off
+  original design
+ work with any device

Apples white earphones that are “in ear”, they are ok.
+ light
+ dont fall out of the ear when running (but thats individual)
+ clean design
+ work with any device

During my two week stay in Norberg, a former mining city in central Sweden, i walked around this beautiful lake, as i was to sick to do any running. When am i well enough to start running again? I don’t know, but i don’t want to risk it, so luckily i had good use of my running shoes, that kept me - walking this time around.

For a while I have been looking for a decent shoe to go walking in. I don’t want to walk in my running shoes, as they are usually a little bigger of sort, the shoe should be “neat” and look easy. It needs to be a great walking shoe, that goes without saying. I think i might just have found this shoe, the Reebok Easy tone, it claims to “work out ” my muscles with an additional 28% more than other shoes. Found here at SportAmore.se

(SportAmore, feel free to send me a pair, so that i can test them and make a movie bout them)
